As of July 2026, Control Point is conducted in seasons, with two seasons per year: July through December and January through June. The current season is Season One (01.2026.1).
To register a team, you must meet the requirements. All teams must have:
A team leader or representative
A unique city or neighborhood designation or equivalent
At least 4 members
A “mascot name” such as “Wildcats”
In addition, a team’s members must meet these requirements:
At least one team member must live or train in the designated city or neighborhood or equivalent
Once an athlete has been registered on a team, they may not change teams until the next season
(optional) A team may have as many members as it wants; athletes beyond 4 are considered alternates
Designation rules
Teams must register at the start of the season.
Previously claimed designations can only be registered by the previous owner unless the previous owner fails to register, after which it can be claimed by another member, otherwise it may be claimed by anyone.
Tournament rules
All fencers competing in finals, medal matches, and/or semifinals must wear a CNBC fencing mask.
Alternates may be traded in between rounds, except if there is an injury.
