IDLE I
Idle I introduces basic linear movement, lunging, and the straight cut attack. It’s a good warm up when done repeatedly and quickly.

THREE-FOUR
3-4 Micro teaches basic deflection principles and reinforces good deflection practices. It also introduces lateral lunges.
GARRISON I
This is your introduction to static defense positions. Learn all 10 shields. You may like to learn the pivots from Blitz I first (see Legacy Sequences).

HOOKBRAT
This sequence introduces four of the five hook attacks, which can be use defensively or counter-offensively.
Hooks are a keystone skill in Lightspeed which will open up many doors for your fencing.
LEGACY SEQUENCES
These sequences are from Lightspeed’s infancy; they are more martial than sporting, and are not representative of modern Lightspeed fencing, nor safe fencing. But there are still useful concepts here.
BLITZ II
Blitz II adds new attack types to the linear footwork reportoire and introduces the idea of the stop-hit, or attacking and landing a hit even while retreating.
(form) (study guide)
BLITZ I
Blitz I takes Blitz II and introduces pivots, which are key to good mobility, which is very important in Lightspeed Saber fencing.
(form) (study guide)
BLITZ IV
Blitz IV introduces basic lateral movement to your repertoire. This is a good exercise with a dummy that can eventually be built upon later for future exercises.

BLITZ IV-c
A much more challenging iteration on Blitz IV that adds symmetry and hand-switching to the mix.
