In this 4 hour crash course, you’ll learn everything you need to know to start Lightspeed Saber fencing. Cang Snow will take you through basic footwork, basic attacks, shields, deflectors, evasions, and basic strategy. Along the way you’ll learn drills, exercises, and games that you can take home and transmit to your friends and fellow fencers. By the end of the course, you’ll also know how to spar, bout in formal matches, and even serve as a basic referee. If you’ve been wanting to get into Lightspeed Saber, this is your best opportunity to do it.

All safety equipment and sabers will be provided.

REQUIREMENTS

To attend this event you must:

• be at least 13 years old

• have the permission of a parent or guardian if under 18

• wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or toe shoes)

WHAT TO BRING

• Wear comfortable clothes you can move and sweat in.

• A personal towel is helpful

• Water

• Lunch

• Anyone with long hair should bring a hair tie or wear a bandana

• Some people prefer to wear a cup, knee/shin guards, elbow/arm guards, or shoulder/chest protector. These are not provided but welcome to be worn.

  • Before January 12: full refund

  • Before January 19: 90% refund

  • January 19 and after: No refunds

• If the event is cancelled due to low attendance or any other reason, you will receive a full refund.
