IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hi Starbats! Here’s a few things I want you to know before Vegas this year!

  1. I will be attempting to close registration early, as we have reached capacity. So please get your registrations in by this 12:01 AM, Saturday, June 10. We realize that this is an inconvenience. If you have any particular difficulty, please let me know. We’ll be as flexible as we can.

  2. After much consideration, Dyad Saber will not be allowed in the Advanced competition, as we feel that the reffing is not ready yet, and the national championship should come down to a contest between the two best fencers in North America, and not the referees. Dyad Saber will be allowed in the other events.

  3. A few emergency rules amendments will be applied in order to be as accommodating as possible, mostly related to violations. These should affect few people (ideally none), and generally for the positive.

Thanks and I’ll see you in Vegas!

— Cang Snow

3v3 TAG TEAM “ANNIHILATION” SKIRMISH

Teams of 3 fight one-on-one but have the opportunity to tag out, change weapons, and huddle to discuss strategy between encounters. Unlike standard Lightspeed Saber, each fencer goes into the fight with a set amount of life points. You can rack up a lot of kills while still being eliminated if you’re not careful. DUET TEAM SKIRMISH

Are you a force dyad? Master and padawan? Either way, you can win our exciting 2v2 sequential team battle. Form your skirmish wing and do battle with other wings to see whose strategy and planning reigns supreme.

Each skirmish is made up of six one-on-one matches. The first four matches are reconnaissance bouts— feel out your opponents and see what they can do. Every member of a team fights every member of the other team.

The final two battles are secret— you won’t know who you’re facing until you step in the ring. Discuss strategy with your teammate, plan ahead, and come up with the best strategy to achieve victory.
