In case you happen to forget your face mask/mouth covering at home, you could do a lot worse than a Lightspeed multipurpose wrap. We just got these restocked so head over the armory if you want one.
Hello. How are you holding up? The world is experiencing a level of societal change and trauma unseen since World War II. Many questions linger as we wonder how we are going to get through this, and, once we do, what happens in the aftermath? Will there still be a Lightspeed when all this is done?
The answer is of course there will be. But our society needs to get back on its feet first. So I want to encourage you to stay engaged with your community, help if possible, and to be sure to take care of yourself too.
Only you know what your community needs, and you know yourself better than anybody. But if you consider physical fitness and mental enrichment part of your self-care (and I hope you do), then we might be able to help with that.
Several Lightspeed bases are playing around with the possibility of online trainings, one of which has already begun. Lightspeed Saber Academy in Tustin, California is offering three training sessions a week, including conditioning, sequence training, and instruction in combat theory and concepts. At the moment it’s totally free. So go check them out and join up with them on Zoom. Social distancing doesn’t have to be anti-social!

The results from Engage II are online, with a writeup by Regional Director Sean Holtzman. Go check out who won, and the relative strengths of each competitor.
Though we’re proud of the 9 teams we’ve had the honor to be joined by, on the backend, Lightspeed is still a small operation, and sale of products is not our focus. We have, however, seen a large uptick in blade orders. Therefore, in order to maximize the use of our time, in February we will begin to sell all blades in pairs. They are, afterall, meant for dueling!
We do apologize if this inconveniences anyone. On the other hand…
The Lightspeed Saber competition ladder is back, after being largely absent for 2019. In addition to returning the ladder to national prominence, we’re also introducing the grading system. The grading system groups competitors for the purposes of stratification in their progress and for more appropriate and better balanced competitive divisions.
We are also pleased to…
Lightspeed Saber League is going to #RiseForRose. Actress Kelly Marie Tran was bullied and harassed after The Last Jedi, and then she got shafted in The Rise of Skywalker. Let’s put the saber community together and make it right by making her a custom lightsaber. Any amount of money is valued. 2500 $1 donations is better than 10 $250 donations. Thanks and MTFBWY.
You can now RSVP to compete at Engage II in Anaheim. Tournament entry right is FREE for a limited time. So get in there asap. (Please note you will still need to purchase a Dreamhack ticket).
