Replacement tip for 3/4” blades.
Blade breaks and tip pops are a regular part of lightsaber fencing. So if you lose your tip, or if you don’t get a clean pop or break, it’s good to have some spares.
All tips are made of polycarbonate and come with a small mirror on the underside to improve blade illumination. We recommend removing the protective film on the mirror before installation.
HOW TO INSTALL A TIP
If necessary, cut and/or deburr the end of the blade you are going to install to.
Partially fit the tip into the blade so that the entire circular edge of the tip stem is housed inside the tube (note: this can take some force if the tube is a tight fit with the tip).
Apply a small amount of super glue, epoxy, or appropriate solvent all around the stem.
Press the tip the rest of the way into the tube so that the bottom of the tip head is flush to the edge of the tube. You may need to do this forcefully if the tube is a tight fit.
If a lot of excess adhesive or solvent squeezes out of the joint, clean it up quickly. Otherwise, a small amount of excess is generally considered to improve the security of the joint.
CAUTION!
It’s great to shorten a broken blade and outfit it with a new tip. However, we generally don’t recommend the use of any blades shorter than 32” exposed from the emitter; the shorter the blade, the stiffer it is, and the harder they tend to hit.
