Joint Templar Selasi Quashie preparing for battle

Lightspeed Saber Forth Worth / Addison, TX— Star Temple Mini Tournament was a small (unofficial) competition of friends fighting for the honor of victory.

The night began with the seven competitors being broken into two random groups so that every person got a minimum of 2 matches. Three competitors were unique members of Star Temple, three were joint members of Star Temple and Kyber Combat and one was a Kyber Combat officer. Group A, consisted of joint members: Christian Beene, Selasi Quashi, and Vance Cole as well as Star Temple officer, Ty Esquenazi. Group B consisted of Star Temple Owner Dakota Eggert, Star temple member Matt Torres and Kyber Officer Kaiden Burkey.

Group A ended with Selasi Quashi coming out with a perfect 3 wins followed by Vance with two wins. Ty and Christian were both eliminated having zero and one win respectively. In Group B, due to an unfortunate accident resulting in a disqualification, Dakota and Matt moved forward by default.

In the semi finals, all four fighters got to fight two times before the final competitors were decided. Selasi went into the finals with a perfect 5 game streak and Vance with 4 wins and 1 loss. Before the finals, Dakota and Matt fought for third with Dakota coming out on top with a score of 16 to 10 after 5 simultaneous strikes.

During the finals, a ferocious battle ensued for first place. After two immediate simultaneous hits before any points were scored, Selasi made huge strides in gaining the lead. After 8 minutes of back and forth and multiple simultaneous strikes, the score was at 13 to 6 in Selasi's favor. In a turn of events, Selasi was almost awarded a perfect win for the entire tournament but the end blow was too hard to call for two of the three referees. After that, the momentum shifted and Vance made an incredible comeback to end on a first strike with a final score of 15 to 13, Vance.

The honorable fighter award (given to the person that called the most honor points for his opponents) was shared between Ty and Vance, each with 5 honor calls.

Thus the Temple Mini Tournament was concluded with the rankings:

1st. Vance 5-1
2nd. Selasi 5-1
3rd Dakota 2-2
4th. Matt 1-3
5th. Christian 1-2
6th. Ty 0-3
7th. Kaiden 0-2

Honorable: Vance and Ty.

Congratulations to all the winners and a big hardy thanks to all competitors for taking part in the first Star Temple unofficial competition.
