In order to better support our international squadrons, we’re trying shorter, very specialized exams to make the process of certification easier and less daunting. The new exams include:
A TRUE basic rules exam— just the very basics of Lightspeed fencing so you’ll understand the most fundamental aspects of the sport, based entirely on a single two page document, the rules pamphlet. Great for beginners.
A visual exam— another very short and simple exam using video examples to test your ability to identify basic scoring actions. Also great for beginners.
A comprehensive exam— this necessitates perusing the rulebook and is the first real step toward officiating. We’ll be adding a few more questions to this one in a short while.
We’ll be debuting more soon, including videos just for identifying defense, intercepts, excessive force, and other infractions.
